NAIK Visit HUNAgro Consult Demonstration farms in Mwea and Timau
On the 25th October 2019 – HUNAgro Consult Limited was honored by a visit from the Hungarian National Research and Innovation Center (NAIK) Management. The team from NAIK were on a visit to monitor and evaluate the land preparation activities at the HUNAgro Consult demonstration sites in Mwea and Timau where the demonstration farms will be set up to showcase Hungarian agricultural technologies to the Kenyan farming communities
NAIK and HUNAgro Consult sign a contract for setting up demonstration farms in Kenya
On the 31st July 2019 – In a bid to improve food security and promote Hungarian technologies in Kenya, the Hungarian government through its research organization NAIK has signed a contract with a local Kenyan company HUNAgro Consult Limited. HUNAgro Consult Limited will set up demonstration farms for Hungarian agricultural technologies in two counties – in Mwea, Kirinyaga County and Timau, Meru County.
These farms will not only serve as sites for showcasing Hungarian technologies but will also double up as farmer training sites.
HUNAgro Consult Limited is a Kenyan based organization founded in 2018 as a private –sector company to provide agricultural consultancy with aim of introducing and promoting the innovative Hungarian Agricultural products and solutions in the African Market targeting small, medium and large scale farmers. This company supports farmers through training, mentorship and apprenticeship. The contract signing ceremony was witnessed by the Hungarian Ambassador to Kenya among others.
The collaboration between NAIK and HUNAgro Consult Limited seeks to bridge the gaps in agricultural technology transfer between the two countries. ‘As HUNAgro Consult Limited, we are excited by the opportunity to be part of this venture. By showcasing new innovative technologies in agriculture, we look forward to transforming the agriculture industry in Kenya, East Africa, and indeed, the entire African continent,’ says the Managing Director of HUNAgro Consult Limited, Kennedy Nzioka.
Water & Soil Limited Trials Presentation
On the 11th October 2018 – HUNAgro Consult Limited presented the water retainer trials results at the proposed Hungarian demonstration farm. HUNAgro Consult carried the product registration as well as finding a distributor for the product in Kenya. During the event, The distribution contract for Water & Soil was signed between Water&Soil Limited and Twiga Chemicals Limited
HUNAgro Directors Visit Mwea Demonstration Farm
On the 9th October 2018 – Directors of HUNAgro consult Limited Dr. Josef Kozari and Mr Kennedy Nzioka visit one of HUNAgro farms in Mwea Kirinyaga County to oversee ongoing research activities on the farm. HUNAgro Consult Limited is involved in agricultural research activities, farmer training and technology transfers from Hungary with the aim of introducing new innovative technologies in the Kenyan agricultural landscape to improve Kenyans food security and safety.
